Ashanti Culture
Ashanti culture is not that old and Ashanti people are living in central Ghana in Western Africa. It is very interesting culture and houses of Ashanti people are closely build together around a courtyard. Parents are responsible for educating their children and according to Ashanti culture marriages are very much important and women can not do marriage according to their choice. Parents are responsible for that. A man has the authority to get married more than one. Religion of the Ashanti people is very much different as they believe that animals, plants and trees have soul along with that also believes in fairies and witches.
Bantu
Bantu culture is another part of African culture and it nearly comprises of 2/3 of Africa’s population and settled in southern and eastern part of the continent. They are well known by “language group” as compare to any ethnic group because they have almost 30 languages in their 3 regions. Bantu people are characterized by “ntu” in their own language. Swahili is the most spoken dialect of Bantu. Their main source of living is agriculture as well as they also do iron smelting.
Gurma Culture
The Gurma , a Voltaic ethnic group was originally centered around the town of Fada Ngourma in eastern Burkina Faso, although some have been found to inhabit northern Togo. Their houses are made of mud-bricks and mainly live in circular compounds. They do herding of animals during hot season and in winter they harvest crops with in their compounds. Gurma people have lighter skin tone and thinner lips along with the straight hairs which is different from the African majority. 95% people of this region are Muslims.
Mongo
There are almost more than 200 cultures that makes up Africa and Mongo is one of the four largest tribes along with Luba, Kongo (all Bantu), and the Mangbetu-Azande (Hamitic) that makes up 45% of the Zaire population. The main source for their living is fishing, hunting and wild plant gathering. The people of that region are poor and they eat Cassavas, it is similar to potato. In their culture family is very important and the eldest member has the all authority. Their art is very famous especially the oral art. A ritual song along with the dance has made Mongo’s culture so rich and drum-talking in different ceremonies plays a special role.
